Welcome to Our Alaska Outdoor Recreation and Travel Guide
Our Alaska travel guide is a labor of love and a work in progress. We are gradually collecting information from our many guests, friends and industry professionals to put together a collection of the very best destinations, tours and guide services throughout Alaska. "Best" is a tough term to apply to signature destinations. We are trying to focus on smaller, family run operations that offer great value and a high level of experience with an "Alaskan" theme. There are many good larger tour companies and hotels out there, but we specifically are focused on referencing smaller "Ma & Pa" small business in which we are thrilled to support. Please visit our main Alaska outdoor travel site for an index of available adventures and categories. Below are links to some specific activities in which you may have interest in during your stay in Alaska. We have created "The Alaska Adventure Company," and a new site outside of wildernessplacelodge.net that features these activities and also accommodations throughout the state of Alaska categorized by both activity and region. We are currently working on networking with tour providers and should have a better list of destinations and guides soon, so check back often!
If you adventure interests include backpacking, mountain biking, horseback trips, backcountry tours, etc. you will find here a list of preferred land-based adventures and tour providers.
